报告题目:Leaders on a Moral Pedestal: How Culture Influences Implicit Theories of Leader Personal Morality

Decades of leadership research has extolled the importance of leaders upholding moral principles at work. However, whether leaders are expected to demonstrate morality outside the workplace remains a debatable question. By integrating theories of moral psychology and work-life boundary, we develop a theoretical framework that elucidates when and why individuals consider leader personal morality as integral to, or separate from, leader effectiveness. We test the theory across six studies and three supplemental studies (total N = 3,301) using varied operationalizations of culture, including cultural group membership, cultural frame priming, and individual cultural values. This research advances theoretical understandings of effective leadership and offers practical implications for navigating modern work life characterized by increasing cultural heterogeneity and integrated work-life experience.

胡琼晶博士毕业于北京大学光华管理学院,现任浙江大学管理学院领导力与组织管理学系副教授。致力于在团队背景下研究领导行为、地位、团队构型等问题,揭示团队内成员的互动模式,为打造高效能的团队提供多方面的建议。研究成果发表于《管理世界》《心理学报》 Academy of Management Journal, Organizational Behavior and Human Decision Processes, Journal of Business Venturing, Human Relations, Journal of Business Ethics等中英文期刊。 近些年,开始逐步探索数字化如何重塑领导力、团队过程及其他重要的组织后果。
